Helping customers dispose of e-waste responsibility.Toshiba operate a program that helps customers do the right thing when they are disposing of unwanted Toshiba MFP’s or updating with new equipment. The e-CYCLE program both diverts waste from landfill and helps to reduce waste of valuable resources. Why e-CYCLE?Fact: Incinerating 10,000 tons of waste creates one job. Land filling it creates 6 jobs. Recycling it creates 36 jobs. At Toshiba we are constantly looking for new ways to improve the design and manufacturing of our products. Innovations that use less energy, have fewer parts and components that can be used in other forms after the original products have reached the end of its economic life (EOL). Toshiba’s Toner Cartridge Recycling ProgramFact: In a one year period, if the worlds discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end, they would circle the earth over three times. Millions of inkjet and laser printer cartridges are used in the US each year, with approximately 95% of used cartridges going to landfill. This convenient solution is not sustainable and we must all acknowledge the importance of the problem if we are to find a positive alternative strategy. Many accept that sending waste to landfill is not a long-term solution as it just leaves the problem for the future generation to deal with. Highly resistant to degradation, the plastic and metal components of cartridges in a landfill site can last for as long as 1000 years. Toshiba’s toner cartridges recycling partner is Close the Loop Inc (CtL), a company that is leading the world in this specialized field of resource recovery and reuse. They have developed a process that takes cartridges, breaks them up, separates and recovers the metallic component materials and then blends and reprocesses the various mixed plastics remaining on site. Their highly skilled team of research chemists is a leader in this field and continues to evaluate new ways of streaming and enhancing their processes. Their ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ process is independently audited and while their operation has achieved ISO 9001 certification, they are working towards ISO 14001 accreditation. A starter kit consists of: - a Toshiba Cartridge collection box (Dimensions: 14"x16"x36")
 - 5 outside pre-labeled shipping bags
- 5 clear plastic liners
- Zip ties
- Recycling program instructions
Assemble the box. (Full instructions are provided with the starter kit.) Place all Toshiba photocopier, printer, or fax machine toner cartridge into the collection box. Organize a pick-up by calling: 1-866-665-6713. Remove bag from box, tie off and leave in pre-arranged collection point or return via UPS. Re-line the box with the 2nd new bag provided and start again. Keep all spare liners and ties under the bag in the bottom of the box. When the full bags are removed, the new liners and ties will be visible. All Toshiba customers are eligible to participate in the Toshiba eCycle Cartridge Collection Program but for low volume customers (less than 5 cartridge per month), we wanted to make sure that it was convenient for you to house our collection bin which holds approximately 20-25 cartridges with dimensions of 14”x16”x36”. For your convenience, we wanted to offer you two additional options as alternatives for participating in our Zero Waste to Landfill program: - Send your supplies using the shipping vendor of your choice to:

Terms & ConditionsIn order to participate in Toshiba's Cartridge Collection Program, the following conditions will apply: For no charge, Toshiba provides a collection box at your facility to collect all Toshiba cartridges and bottle from any Toshiba printer, copier, and fax machine. Full Toshiba toner waste collection bottles may also be deposited in the collection box Toshiba drum and drum units may also be deposited in the collection box The collection box is NOT for general waste
